Yes β the Mini runs on 12V directly
Unlike the bigger dishes, the Mini has a DC5521 (5.5Γ2.1 mm) barrel jack rated for 12β48V DC. A 12V car or RV battery, a 12V solar system, or a portable power station all feed it directly. Center pin is positive (+).

The one thing that bites people: voltage drop
At 12V the Mini pulls more current for the same watts, so thin or long wire drops voltage and can cause reboots β especially during the ~60W startup surge. Two rules:
- Use 14AWG or heavier for the DC run, and keep it as short as practical.
- For a long run (10 ft+), consider a small boost/regulator to hold a steady 24β30V into the barrel β higher voltage means less current and less drop.
Off a 48V LiFePOβ instead?
If your power system is a 48V/51.2V LiFePOβ bank (it floats ~54V), that's above the Mini's 48V limit. Step it down to ~36V with a buck converter before the barrel jack β don't feed 54V into a Mini. That's covered in the main guide below.
